My days during teaching assistance (I)

On Oct. 12, 2016, the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Education Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region issued a Circular on Doing a Better Job in Teaching Assistance to the Pre-School Bilingual Education in Southern Xinjiang, officially kicking off the teaching assistance program in southern Xinjiang. In response to the circulation, the Party Group of the Xinjiang International Expo Administration paid high attention to the call and gave a quick response to the decisive deployment of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.On the morning of Oct. 17, Li Jingyuan, secretary of the Party Group and director of the Xinjiang International Expo Administration, held a meeting among all the chief of the departments of the administration and its subsidiary entities to make arrangement and held a mobilizing meeting in the afternoon. All staff members of the administration actively responded to the call for the teaching assistance to the pre-school bilingual education in southern Xinjiang. Everyone enrolled for the program. According the requirements of the circular and in line with the actual situation of the administration, the Party Group decided on Oct. 18 that Cholpan Mawken from the Foreign Liaison Department became the first member from the administration to assist in teaching in the southern Xinjiang.

Beginning from Oct. 31, the first batch of 3,000 bilingual teaching assistance members started their 9-day classified training. The training includes five modules of “policy explanation, pre-school bilingual education professional concept, pre-school bilingual teacher professional skills, kindergarten management and other education and teaching activities”. After the training, these para-early childhood teachers will go and teach in various kindergartens in the villages of four prefectures in the southern Xinjiang. From today on, we will bring you the teaching life of the pre-school bilingual education teacher Cholpan Mawken from the Xinjiang International Expo Administration.

I was lucky to be the first from the Xinjiang International Expo Administration for the teaching assistance program. I felt honored but perturbed. The teaching assistance program is the extended work of another program of “understanding people, benefiting people’s livelihood and uniting people” of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a rare chance for the cadres of different ethnic groups to go into the grassroots, understand the grassroots life and take care of the growth of the children in the southern Xinjiang. It will surely become an unforgettable memory and valuable asset of each cadre involved. At the same time, pre-school education and bilingual education is also an enormous challenge for us that requires us to continuously explore and study during the process.

The para-teachers are actively involved in the education and teaching practice.  

Ever since the teaching training, Class VI, which I was in, and other nine classes have experienced the tense but orderly classes with joys. The experts with rich experience and teachers worked hard to make the class enjoyable. They used every vivid case and education presentation to enliven the pre-school education and teaching. The students listened attentively and actively got involved in various discussions and events. The classroom was erupted with timely applauses and laughter. The children song filled with childlike innocence, the learning of songs, the exaggerated performance and dances brought us to the wonderful childhood. Every day, we were indulged in courses and events that were filled with childlike innocence and interest. The trainees gradually overcame the perturbation and unsureness. We believed as long as we had the love, patience and responsibility, we are sure able to help the children to learn good language and enhance their abilities. We would bring our love, warmth and knowledge to the grassroots and to the children. I will accomplish my mission and have a good start for the teaching assistance program of the Xinjiang International Expo Administration, accumulate experience and contribute to the pre-school education and teaching in the southern Xinjiang.
