Targeting Central Asia, Xinjiang International Convention & Exhibition Center (XJICEC) is one of the largest and most functional of its kind in western China, a landmark of Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the host place for "China-Eurasia Expo", as well as an international venue for conventions, exhibitions and celebrations.
With a floor area of 112,000 square meters, a length of 486 meters and a width of 130.5 meters, Phase 1 of XJICEC is in axisymmetric design. The five-storey grand main building in the middle is shaped as a five-storey spheroid moon on the top, implying a "Moon out of Mount Tianshan". The center has 16 conference halls, including a multifunctional hall accommodating 1,500 persons and a stair-type conference accommodating 800 persons. Some conference halls are equipped with simultaneous interpretation devices. The center has an indoor exhibition area of 42,000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 60,000 square meters. In front of the main building is a 13,000-square-meter landscape square. There are also a park and an exhibit storage & allocation zone in the center.
